CASE HISTORIES OF PATIENTS BENEFITING FROM TREATMENT WITH HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINE
1. Patient: Mrs E.L.T Age: 49 years Illness and symptoms: Fatigue, aching joints( shoulders, neck, knee, ankles), backache, stiffness worse mornings and after walking, poor memory, sleeplessness due to pain. Symptoms started eight year ago with pain in arms, shoulders and back. Gradually got worse despite treatment with anti-inflammatories. Past medication: ibuprofen, co-proxamol, atenolol, bendroflumethiazide Homoeopathic treatment prescribed: Rhus Tox30, Ruta Grav 30 and Rheumapasc
Result: “Less pain, less stiffness, can walk longer without getting pain and stiffness. Backache less severe, can sleep better. As a result feel happier. Do not take any more ibuprofen or Co-proxamol”.
2. Patient: Mrs B.S Age: 68 years
Illness and symptoms Very inflamed large toe joint on right foot (gout). The whole foot is swollen, bruised and extremely painful.
Conventional medication: Allopurinol 300mg, diclofenac 50mg. Used his for two two months with some benefit but toe still swollen and painful.
Homoeopathic treatment prescribed: Ledum 30 plus Ledum similiaplex.
Result: “Within a week there was improvement with less inflammation pain and swelling. Used homoeopathic remedies for two months and was able to stop allopurinol and diclofenac. Toe is now normal and Have no more swelling or pain and am able to walk without restriction or pain. Still taking homeopathic drops to keep gout at bay.”
3. Patient: Mr J S Age: 63 years
Illness and symptoms: Prostatic Hyperpalsia Benign (P.H.B). Restricted micturation (dribbling) pain on micturation, discomfort, incontinence.
Conventional medication: Finasteride 5mg
Homoeopathic treatment prescribed: Saw Palmetto simialaplex.
Result: “After taking homoeopathic remedy for a few weeks, saw much improvement. Less discomfort on passing urine. Less frequency. No more catheterization, as was the case on three occasions in the past. I am still taking Finasteride 5mg and my homoeopathic treatment as advised by Mr Chaudhry. Feel much happier and my GP is most impressed by my continued improvement.”
4.Patient Mrs S.R Age: 55 years
Illness and symptoms: Menopausal symptoms with hot flushes, frequently (three to four an hour). Worse at night . Mood swings with tendency to being depressed. Excessive perspiration, soaked at night, cannot sleep because of that. Sypmtoms started 7-8 years ago. Slightly high blood pressure.
Conventional medication: Tried various HRT medications from GP and eventually settled on Prempak-C 0.625mg. After a few years on this and due to elevated blood pressure, GP advised to stop Prempak-C as a caution.
Homoeopathic treatment prescribed: Agnus Castus (herbal tablets) and Pascofem similiaplex homoepathic drops.
Result: “It took a couple of weeks to see improvement. After persevering with the treatment, I saw my hot flushes reduce in frequency and severity. After being on this treatment for two months, I only get few hot flushes. I can put up with this. My mood, as a result, has improved and as there are no side effects and my hot flushes are much less frequent, I will continue with this treatment.”
5. Patient Miss Kyle H.S Age: 4 years
Illness and symptoms: Eczema. Rash all over body including face and head. Red patches behind knees, in elbow creases, around ankles and wrists. Continuous itching , wake up at night scratching. Started four weeks ago due to hot weather.
Conventional Medication: GP prescribed steroids, betnovate cream. Symptoms eased for a while, but started again. Got worse gradually and skin weeping and infected. GP prescribed Fucibet cream and oral antibiotics. Other prescribed medication over the last year included Diprobase, Diprobath, Aqueous cream, Balneum plus, Hydrous ointment.
Homoeopathic treatment prescribed: Cistus Can. Plus Viola Tric. Similiaplex drops and Sulp30+Rhus 30
Result: "After being on homoeopathic remedies for a week, there was improvement, less itching, skin started looking normal with no dry patches. It was still inflammed but itchiness was less. Continued with treatment including moisturizer prescribed by GP. Six months on, skin much improved. Still taking homoeopathic medication. Eczema symptoms much improved with less itching. Inflammation and skin looking normal behind knees, in creases of elbows and around wrists and ankles."
6. Patient: B.R.J. Age: 58 years
Illness and symptoms Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnosed in 1985 and have been attending Rheumatology Clinic. Symptoms include joint pains with inflammation and swelling. Nausea, weakness and back pain. Symptoms started in early teens. Also have hypertension.
Conventional medication: Indomethacin, Rheumox, Relifex, Diclofenac, Enalapril , Innozide Enalapril. These were prescribed at various times over the past.
Homoeopathic treatment prescribed: Rheumapasc similiaplex, Apis m30 + Urtica urens 30 for swelling inflammation. Patient was advised to continue with medication for hypertension.
Result: “Gradual improvement in symptoms with less pain, inflammation. Movement of joints improved. Back pain less severe. Walking improved with less pain after short walks.” Patient advised to continue with homoeopathic medication and conventional treatment for hypertension and only to take Diclofenac if necessary.
7. Patient Mrs H.F Age 64 years
Illness and symptoms: Diverticulitis. Persistent loose stools in the morning, six to eight times every morning. Cramps in abdomen. Excessive flatulence . Symptoms started about twelve years ago. Diagnosed two years ago as Diverticulitis
Conventional medication: Loperamide, Alverine citrate, Colpermin capsules, Fybogel
Homoeopathic treatment prescribed: Argenticum nit + Chamomila similiaplex, Arsen alb30 plus Slippery Elm (herbal capsules).
Result: “ After taking homoeopathic remedies I saw gradual improvement in symptoms. Stools less frequent, only get two or three a day, no more cramps, less flatulence.”
8. Patient Mr R.P. Age 49 years
Illness and symptoms: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (I.B.S). Symptoms of severe stomach cramps during the night. Attacks of flatulence eased by burping. Frequent diarrhoea and constipation. This was very tiring and resulted in two months off work. I have had Gastroscopy and Endoscopy, Barium meal test followed by Ultrasound scan. Consultant diagnosed IBS. I have cut out all gluten products and reduced milk and coffee intake but symptoms have not improved.”
Conventional medication: Mebevrine, Colpermin capsules
Homoeopathic treatment prescribed: Artemesia+ Chamomilla similiaplex drops and Nux vom 30+Natrum Mur30 homoeopathic tablets.
Results: “ After taking homoeopathic medication, I saw great improvement in my symptoms, particularly reduction in stomach cramps and flatulence. There was less diarrhoea and virtually no constipation. My appetite improved and as the stomach cramps improved, I was able to stop Mebeverine and Colpermin. I am continuing to improve and advised by Mr Chaudhry, am continuing to take Homoeopathic medication prescribed by him.”
9. Patient Miss Jane E.S.D Age: 9 years
Illness and symptoms: Warts on fingers of left hand and both thumbs. GP diagnosed as viral warts. Tried various topical treatments and freezing by GP. No improvement.
Conventional treatment: Cuplex, Salatec gel, Glutarol paint and freezing with Liquid Nitrogen
Homoeopathic treatment prescribed: Thuja 30 and topical application of thu+cal lotion
Result: “Warts started disappearing after two weeks on homoeopathic medication. It took about two months for all the warts to disappear. Mr Chaudhry advised to continue with the treatment another three months to prevent re-occurrence. One year on and I have no more warts. All my school friends were amazed at the result and I did not have to hide my hands as I used to when I had warts all over them.”
